Detecture
Detecture is an app that allows you to scan buildings producing information on its architectural style, history, and additional information. Expanding upon the brand, there is also a guided map series and a collection of promotional posters.
The main thinking behind Detecture was to create an immersive experience into architectural appreciation. This distilled our key message to the simple phrase, “Architecture made easy”. We feel as though there is such a vast amount of information on it that having a database for it and bringing in real life elements is a key tool in clarifying this. We believe that the appreciation for architecture that can spawn from this app will be beneficial to those already interested in architecture as well as getting new people into it. We hope that it will make more people interested in preservation of these buildings.
The individual pages of the Detecture app include a camera, map feature, a forum, a profile page, and a saved information/explore page. In addition, there is also a map series including guided tours on architecture in select cities and poster-style billboards that contain a QR code to the app.
